General Assembly
The General Assembly is the sovereign power of the Association. The General Assembly is made up of all the Association members who have paid their subscription fees. At this time, NATURA has 28 members from whole Europe. The General Assembly shall be held once a year, at a time and place determined by the General Assembly.
The following are reserved for its competence:
- General policy of the Association;
- Admittance or exclusion of Members and Affiliates;
- Election of the President and of the Vice President of the General Assembly;
- Election of the Board of Directors;
- Approval of the Board of Directors' report (including balance sheet, accounts and budgets);
- Amendments to the Statutes of the Association;
- Any decisions exceeding the powers legally or statutorily granted to the board of Directors;
- Voluntary termination of the Association;
- Decision of time and place for following year's General Assembly.
President and Vice President
The Association shall be administered by a Board consisting of six persons : the President and the Vice President of the General Assembly and four directors.
The General Assembly elects among its members a President and a Vice President for a non renewable term of three years. The General Assembly is chaired by the President of the General Assembly, the Vice President or, failing that, any other member appointed by the President.
Board of Directors
The President of the General Assembly proposes four members of the Board of Directors. They are elected by the General Assembly for a non renewable term of three years. The Directors are members of the General Assembly. The Board of Directors shall meet at least once a year, or at any other time necessary to the good operation of the Association.
Secretary General
The Board of Directors appoints a Secretary General. He (she) is responsible for the development and the execution of the projects of the NATURA network. The Secretariat shall regularly report the execution of its delegations to the Board of Directors.
NATURA's tradition is to have a rotating secretariat in member institutions. The usual commitment of one member is to host the secretariat for a three years period. The hosting institution for 2004 to 2007 is Czech Agriculture University in Prague, Czech Republic (Petra Holíková), while Agropolis Montpellier, France (Fabien Boulier) hosted it previously.
